First stop, Chatuchak Weekend Market (JJ Market)
Goodness, never felt so excited about shopping until I reached that damn place! Everything's so cheap and colorful and attractive... you know what I mean!
Second stop, Khao San Road
This place is cool! Its backpackers haven and there I am. They had the coolest stuff and its not that expensive compared to other places. This is the place to go if you wanna get braidings or dreadlocks done. The ONLY place.

The train ride took forever and thank God we took the first class cabin otherwise I would have cried for mummy! Very cosy cabin I must say. 3 times i slept and woke up and slept again till we reached Bangkok...
Hungry, tired, stinky... I was hoping for the best when we reach Bangkok and the first thing I saw when I stepped out of the train station boarding area was DUNKIN DONUT! I'm in heaven!
Thought we could start shopping after checking in to our room but it rained... Bloody Hell!

Day 9 - Samui/Suratthani
|
|
Sad to leave island life... but looking forward for a shopping spree in Bangkok
But first we have to head down to the dreaded Train Station in Surat Thani to catch our train (10.40pm)
Since the ferry to Surat Thani last operates at 1pm, we end up reaching the station at 5pm
5 hours we were stranded there... never felt dirtier... itching all over...
Mosquitoes... fleas.... stray dogs... weird people... eurghh!!
10.30pm and I got my bags ready to board the train and there I found out it'll be delayed for 2 hours
2 hours later... my eyes were tired... i felt like I've not showered for days... got up ready for the train...
And they made us cross the track cos' apparently the train will come in from there
So we did and we waited some more... by the time I'm on the train its already 1.30am!
Bloody hell! more than 7 hours! We could have had done something else like erm... clubbing?
ANyway Surat Thani's a boring town... you cannot have fun in that place

No we did not go to the party
We have to cross the sea again to Koh Lanta on a speed boat to join in
Instead we stayed in and took part in the Loy Kratong Festival

Being as fickle-minded as we are, we moved to Chaweng Beach where its famous for its night life and awesome beaches... we should have gone there in the first place

We headed further up (7-9hrs long) to Surat Thani to purchase our train tickets to get us to Bangkok before catching a ferry to Koh Samui
This place (Surat Thani) is full of inconvenience and they know we're tourist... so enuff said

The weather sux when we were there but at night this place is lovely and colourful
We didn't get the opportunity to explore Patong Beach but no regrets... we're tanned enuff to last us till we get to Koh Samui
